Tanya Sullivan RN, MSN, ANP-BC
Tanya Sullivan is a nurse practitioner. Her passion for nursing began during her early teen years when she volunteered at her local hospital for a few hours after school passing out water and magazines to patients. Her formal nursing career began twenty years ago and it includes working in an array of clinical settings including Medical-Surgical Nursing, Adult & Pediatric Interventional Cardiology Services, and Critical Care Nursing. In addition to this, she found great joy in providing care to patients in the community setting.
She came to realize that her career passion favors working to provide quality health care to clients who reside in underserved communities. Nurses are the most trusted profession. We also trust our instincts. When I was invited to become a member of the Harlem Healthy Hearts Team, IT JUST FELT RIGHT! Not only did she view this as a well-befitting opportunity, but she was also humbled by the supportive teamwork approach among all members who have similar desires to provide health education and promote wellness to members of our local community.
Her future plans are to complete her terminal degree in nursing and continue to work and positively influence health outcomes. By doing so, the incurred positive social impact will be accomplished through decreased health care costs resulting from increased self-awareness and active participation in one’s own health that citizens obtain by participating in our program.
